October is London Month of the Dead

With creepy events hosted at Brompton and Kensal Green Cemeteries

London Month of the Dead is back for a second year, hosted within the chapels of two local cemeteries, Brompton and Kensal Green.

Events taking place throughout October and concluding on November 1 will investigate the capital’s relationship with its deceased residents.

As with last year's first Month of the Dead, many events have sold out before the month begins, including a talk on the history of taxidermy and ghost stories by candelight in Brompton Cemetery but tickets are still available for wide range of spooky events, including tours of cemeteries and crypts, workshops on mouse and rat taxidermy, talks on forensics, pathology and organ donation and candlelit concerts

You can see the full programme here.

Brompton and Kensal Green Cemeteries are part of the "‘Magnificent Seven", the septet of Victorian cemeteries that became showcases for neo-classical and new-Gothic architecture within six miles of St Paul's Cathedral.

The London Month of the Dead has been curated by a Curious Invitation and Antique Beat to inform, entertain and provoke on the subject of death and London cemeteries.

Each ticket to these events includes one Hendrick's Gin cocktail and a 20% donation to restoration projects at the two cemeteries.

Hendrick's has also come up with a series of creepy cocktails specially for London Month of the Dead, including the Corpse Reviver - Hendrick’s Gin, Lemon Juice, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau, Glass rinsed with absinthe.
