Sharon Gless Comes to Town!

Hollywood actress stars in A Round-Heeled Woman

Hollywood actress Sharon Gless comes to Hammersmith's Riverside Studios on Tuesday October 18, where she is starring in the British premiere of A Round-Heeled Woman.

The play is based on Jane Juska’s best selling true story book of the same name.  Retired Californian English teacher and divorcee, Jane realised, after 30 years of being "severely deprived" of touch, that she  "liked men"!

She decided to place this personal ad in her favourite periodical, The New York Review of Books: " Before I turn 67 - next March - I would like to have a lot of sex with a man I like. If you want to talk first, Trollope works for me".

She received 63 replies, from men aged between 32 and 84, and went on to write of her experiences in A Round-Heeled Woman - My Late-Life Adventures in Sex & Romance.

Playing Jane is Sharon Gless, fondly remembered as sharp-talking cop Christine Cagney in the long-running series Cagney & Lacey and other critically-acclaimed television roles include Debbie Novotny in Queer as Folk and Madeline Westen in Burn Notice. She also has numerous theatre credits to her name.

A Round-Heeled Woman runs from Tuesday October 18 through till November 20, from Tuesday till Saturday evenings at 8pm and with matinees on Thursdays and Saturdays at 3pm and Sundays at 4pm. There will be a Q & A session with Sharon after each Thursday afternoon performance.

The play is suitable for ages 15+ and tickets cost between £18 and £25. Tickets can be bought online or by calling the box office on 020 8237 1111.

Riverside Studios is at Crisp Road, Hammersmith. Meals are available daily in the Riverside Bar and Kitchen and the Film Cafe.
