Shepherd's Bush Empire Now Closed till At least March

Gigs moved to other London venues as roof repairs continue

The O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire has announced that it will now remain closed until at least March as the building’s roof is repaired.

Gigs by artists including They Might Be Giants, Gabrielle Aplin and Ed Byrne originally scheduled for the Grade II-listed Empire on Shepherd's Bush Green have been moved to other London venues. The Empire says all tickets are being honoured.

A spokeswoman for the Empire says: " Following the closure of O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on 4 December and further inspections, structural engineers have advised that works to the roof structure will extend into March.

" The repairs require propping the roof from inside the main auditorium and we are working with independent experts and advisors to complete this maintenance as quickly as possible.

" We are sorry that these extended restoration works mean that further shows up to 31 March 2016 will either be moved to other venues in London or rescheduled as necessary.

" Once again, we thank artists, promoters and fans for their cooperation and patience and wish to reassure everyone that safety is our priority."
