Creative Workshops for Children and Families

At the Louise Blouin Foundation

Another dimension: 3-D Sculpture and Pop-up Cards
July 4, 2-4pm
Suitable for: 7-11-year-olds

Explore the third dimension of design through paper engineering. Create and transform simple bases into animals, buildings or people. In this workshop the artist will lead you through the first steps in pop-up techniques and encourage all to use their new skills to create a greeting card.

Shadow Drawing
July 25, 2-3.30pm
Suitable for: 4-7-year-olds

Discover new ways of creating images using light. The artist will introduce basis light effects hand-shadow games and paper cut-outs. In this session you will be encouraged to draw the visible shadows of birds and animals and to copy each other's silhouettes.

Make a Palm Leaf Book
August 29, 2-4pm
Suitable for: 7-11-year-olds

Take part in an exercise in drawing, design and art response. In this session, the artists will lead you to create your own finished books with unique mementoes of the gallery visit. The long narrow books will be inspired by the traditional South East Asian palm leaf books and thoughts and ideas about the objects seen in the gallery spaces.

Collage Creative
September 26, 2-3.30pm
Suitable for: 4-7-year-olds

Mix cut-outs from old magazines and found images to create colourful pictures and unusual forms. Please bring any newsprint that might provide images that could be cut out and used during the workshop.

All workshops are held at the Louise Blouin Foundation.

Tickets are £5 per child and free for adults.

Materials will be provided. Parents are welcome and are advised to accompany all children under the age of six.
