Drug Addict Evicted

Shepherd’s Bush council tenant is kicked out of his flat for anti-social behaviour.

In a zero-tolerance blitz on anti-social behaviour, a drug addict has been evicted from his Shepherd’s Bush council property for causing a serious disturbance to his neighbours and for illegally subletting his bedroom.

Terry Le'Mon of Norland House, W12, made life a misery for
other residents, who were repeatedly woken up by the 34 year-old and his drug-fuelled companions. Some ground floor residents were disturbed in the middle of the night by people banging on the windows, demanding to be let in and neighbours were also verbally abused and threatened by Le'Mon and his friends.

Cllr Greg Smith, Cabinet Member for Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour said: "This kind of behaviour disgusts me. How dare Le'Mon think he can get away with this appalling skulduggery. The council will not justsit back and let good-for-nothing rascals like him wreakhavoc in our neighbourhoods. Law-abiding residents expect us to protect them. Good riddance to Le'Mon."

Inside Le’Mon’s flat, there was evidence of hard drug use and his bedroom had been illegally rented out.

Cllr Adronie Alford, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: "I am appalled by this person's actions and feel terribly sorry for the poor people who had to put up with his behaviour day and night. All council tenants have a right to feel safe and secure in their homes and we will not tolerate such
disrespect."

Hammersmith and Fulham council says it tried to contact Le’Mon on numerous occasions to clarify his responsibilities to him, but when this failed, written warnings were sent.

Following more complaints from neighbours, the council made further failed attempts to contact Le’Monand eventually alerted the police.

They were able to obtain a Closure Order and the property was sealed with a metal door. The council thenbegan possession proceedings and was granted a Possession Order.

Hammersmith and Fulham council says it evicted the tenant as a last resort.
