University of the Third Age Holds Monthly Meeting on 12 November

Including a talk by Sheila Knight on glass designer Rene Lalique

The University of the Third Age, or U3A, is holding its next monthly meeting on Tuesday 12 November at St Mary’s Church Hall on the corner of Edith Road and Hammersmith Road from 10.30 am till 12.30am.

This month sees the return, by popular demand, of Sheila Knight discussing Rene Lalique, the French designer noted for his glass designs. This is a return visit by popular demand.

Attendance is free for members. Visitors are welcome for a donation of £2.50 which will be refunded to those joining on the day.

The meetings begin with an update from the Chair, current news from Group Conveners and any other items of interest. This is followed by tea, coffee and biscuits (50p) where members have the chance to socialise.

Hammersmith & Fulham U3A has been active in Hammersmith for the past 11 years though members come from other areas of West London, including Chiswick.

A general meeting is held on the second Tuesday of each month for all members where matters of the day are discussed and a speaker is invited to give a talk. Members also organise various activities across the month at given venues or members homes.

The U3A is aimed mainly at people who have retired or are semi-retired, but other people who feel they have time to enjoy leisurely activities are always welcome.
