May Madness Takes Over Askew Road and Starch Green

Contributions invited to community event on Saturday May 17

May Madness is set to take over Askew Road and Starch Green on Saturday May 17.

Highlights of this new community event include an Alice in Wonderland trail along Askew Road, Maypole dancing, pavement art, sunflower planting and stilt walking, plus a plant sale, face painting, fancy dress competition, pedal powered smoothies and lots more.

This event, which will run all day, follows last year's very successful Edible Askew Road festival, run by Hammersmith Community Gardens Association in partnership with the Askew Business Network and sponsors, local estate agent Finlay Brewer.

The organisers are asking local independent shops and businesses to think about what they could contribute to make the most of the day, from food tasting to vouchers or special offers, to become part of the Alice in Wonderland trail.

They say this is a community event, designed to bring people together and enjoy the fun of growing, sharing and transforming the area.
