City Mission Hosts Energy Saving Event


Visit Scrubs Lane hub for advice on switching suppliers and cutting bills


City Mission Hub, at 2 Scrubs Lane is hosting an event to mark Big Energy Saving week on Wednesday, October 28.

The event, from 1pm till 5pm is open to local residents, families and employees living within or near College Park.

On representatives from the big three energy suppliers (British gas, N power, SSE Telecoms) and other non - profit organisations, will be on the day to hand to give advice on:

- Switching energy providers
- Save up to 100 off your energy bill
- Pick up a winter warmer goodie bag
- Warm home discount
- Fuel arrears

Big Energy Saving Week, which begins today, October 26, is a national campaign to help people cut their fuel bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to. Residents viting the hub can get free light bulbs as well as a range of other free services.

The week aims to help people find out about switching energy supplier and tariff to get the best deal as well as efficiency issues.

This is the fifth Big Energy Saving Week and is a partnership between Citizens Advice, the Energy Saving Trust and the Department of Energy and Climate Change with the support of numerous organisations, charities and companies.

City Mission Hub is a non-profits organisation which actively provides welfare support, employment, creative and educational support within the community.
