Cyclist Fights for Life After Westway Crash


Victim has ‘life threatening injuries’ after collision with lorry

A male cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after being involved in a collision near the Westway this Tuesday afternoon (16 May).

The man believed to be in his fifties was in a collision shortly before 5.30pm near the junction with Wood Lane north of Shepherd’s Bush. He was taken to hospital by London Air Ambulance.

Wood Lane has been closed northbound between South Africa Road and A40 Westway.

A police spokesperson said, “Police were called at just after 5.30pm 16 May to reports of a lorry and cyclist in collision on the Westway, W12 near the junction with Wood Lane.

“Officers and ambulance service attended and the cyclist - a man (no further details at this time) - was taken to hospital. His injuries are being treated as life threatening.

“The lorry driver stopped at the scene.”
