Flying Squad Swoop on Armed Robbers


Caught redhanded in HSBC Shepherd's Bush Green

The Flying Squad arrested two armed robbers in Shepherd's Bush this Wednesday (8th October) after they held up the local branch of HSBC.

At 4pm, two men entered the HSBC Bank on Shepherd's Bush Green, threatened members of staff with weapons and demanded they hand over cash. A rucksack was filled with approximately £4000 and the men left the bank.

Flying Squad officers supported by armed police were waiting. The stopped and arrested the men who were taken to a west London police station where they remain in custody.

DI Scott Hartley, of the Flying Squad said: "These two men were brazen enough to attempt to hold up a bank in broad daylight in a busy London street. I pay tribute to all the officers who carried out this intelligence-led operation which has resulted in two arrests."
