Two men are being treated in hospital after an altercation took place in Shepherd’s Bush in the early hours of this Thursday (13 September).

The pair were found by the emergency services close to the Londis store on the Uxbridge Road near the entrance to the Westfield Shopping Centre at 3.53am.

The two men, aged 48 and 19 were treated at the scene for head injuries and taken by ambulance to a central London hospital for treatment. Neither man's condition is life threatening.

Initially the incident was reported as a stabbing but police now believe both men were assaulted with a bottle.

A 26-year-old man was arrested close to the scene on suspicion of two counts of grievous bodily harm (GBH). He remains in police custody at this time.

A crime scene remains in place and has resulted in the closure of the pavement and two lanes of the Uxbridge Road leading to heavy traffic in the area.

Enquiries continue by officers at Hammersmith and Fulham CID. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and quote ref: 802/13Sep or call Crimestoppers anonymously.
