The teenager who died following a stabbing in Shepherd's Bush last Wednesday has been named as 18 year-old Yusuf Mohamed.

Police say that while formal identification awaits, his next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination took place at Uxbridge Mortuary on Friday, 28 June and gave cause of his death as a stab wound.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information following the fatal stabbing, and say they are keen to talk to two young men who ran off from the scene on Uxbridge Road towards Wormholt Park.

Police were called to Uxbridge Road in Shepherds Bush at 9.20pm on Wednesday, 26 June where Yusuf was found suffering from a stab injury.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene but despite the efforts of attending paramedics he died at the scene a short time later.

According to witnesses, Yusuf had run into a shop after being stabbed, but his attacker - described by one witness as 'about 15 years old' chased him and stabbed him again.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and speak with them.

Detective Chief Inspector Rob Pack said: "I would reiterate my appeal to local residents or anyone who was in the area at the time of the stabbing who has information about this incident but has yet to come forward.

"We have already carried out extensive CCTV enquiries in the vicinity and analysis of footage continues. I am still particularly keen to speak with anyone who saw two males, possibly aged in their teens, who we know ran from the scene heading in the direction of Wormholt Park.

"They then took the underpass under the Westway towards East Acton Underground Station. This is a busy area and a number of people would have been in the area at the time. Did you see them? They may well have stood out as they would have been out of breath.

"It is important that we speak with them and find out exactly what happened."

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference 8782/26 June.
