Kebab Shop Fire in Shepherd's Bush

Flat resident above premises escapes late night blaze

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a fire in a kebab shop on Uxbridge Road in Shepherd’s Bush, W12 last night (20th June).

A person who lives in a flat above the shop left the building before the Brigade arrived.

The fire damaged part of the kebab shop’s kitchen and the ducting from the ground floor to the third floor was damaged. Ducting is the extraction system used by kitchens to remove the fumes and steam from cooking.

The Brigade was called at 11.17pm and the fire was under control by 12.38am.

Fire crews from Acton, Hammersmith and Chiswick fire stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
