Charlotte Le Rougetel reports on the latest outing on Wormwood Scrubs

38 runners joined us at the start line this week on a beautiful and comparably balmy Saturday morning. The course was still icy in places and the terrain a bit crunchy, but the biting wind had subsided thankfully. And an even bigger pat on the back goes to Manuel Corriente who was awarded Sweatshop parkrunner of the month for January - our first 2015 winner.
We look forward to seeing you at the Scrubs soon with your new kicks!

Six first timers joined us today. A very warm welcome to you, especially to Joseph KEANE who was running his very first parkrun. We hope to see all of you again very soon. And seven of the 38 secured personal bests. Congratulations Daniel Sharpe, Owain Crispin, Charles Craven, Anthony Ball, Andrea Calderwood, Lucy Strathon and Amanda Shakespeare.

Current standing in the men's annual points competition looks like this and with Nick volunteering and not running today, there is a gap opening up between first and second places:
- Rizwan RAUF (Unattached) 2614 pts.
- Nick MICHAEL (Thames Valley Harriers) 2434 pts.
- Peter JORDAN (Thames Valley Harriers) 2394 pts.
Current standing in the women's annual points competition is as follows and thanks to being a park run tourist, Kirstie is also slipping a little further down the table:
- Charlotte LE ROUGETEL (Unattached) 2534 pts.
- Marion BRYDSON (Thames Valley Harriers) 2156 pts.
- Kirstie TEW (Unattached) 2015 pts.

Congratulations to Kirstie Tew who ran the Cancer Research Winter Run 10k last Sunday in 52:30 knocking FIVE minutes off her previous 10k PB. Nick and Riz also put in sterling performances at the Winter Run Series in Regents Park. Kirstie and I both thoroughly enjoyed the Winter 10k, so one to bear in mind for next year!

Thank you to our volunteers this week: Andrew Broughton, Charlie Le Rougetel, Fraser Brydson, Manuel Corriente, Marion Brydson, Megan Hardy, Nick Michael, Rizwan Rauf and also Ben Le Rougetel who helped with set up.

Next week's volunteer roster is full, which is fabulous, but we're looking for someone to hand out finish tokens on the 21st if anyone fancies it. Just drop us an email at wormwoodscrubshelpers@parkrun.com.

You should have received an email from parkrun this week announcing that the new TribeSports milestone tee shirts are now in production and also you can claim a £10 discount on the website using code parkrun10.

Happy running. See you for a 'love'ly run next Saturday, Valentine's Day.
