TfL Warn Of Traffic Disruption Ahead

Work to begin on roundabout and pedestrian underpass

Transport for London are warning of traffic disruption in the weeks ahead, while work is being carried at a local intersection.

TfL say they will be resurfacing and waterproofing the elevated West Cross roundabout.

"While these works are being carried out, the roundabout will be subject to lane restrictions and occasional night time closures for six weeks from 4 May 2010," TfL say in a statement.

The West Cross Route subway at the Holland Park roundabout will also be refurbished and as part of this work, new CCTV cameras and improved lighting will be installed.

"The West Cross Route subway will be closed to the public from 31 May 2010 for six weeks while it is being refurbished. A signposted diversion route will direct pedestrians to a nearby crossing on Shepherd's Bush Green, which will allow them to
complete their journey," said Transport for London.

"Both sets of works will be carried out 24 hours a day. All noisy work will be restricted to daytimes to minimise any inconvenience to local residents."

The subway already had a makeover less than two years ago when the colourful sheep that used to decorate the walls were wiped out with a coat of white paint.
