Shepherd's Bush Market Plans On Show this Week

Developer hosts exhibitions in market and Bush Theatre

Local residents are being invited to learn more about the redevelopment of Shepherd's Bush Market at a public exhibition.

Developer Orion Shepherd’s Bush will be hosting a series of sessions in the Market and at the Bush Theatre on November 21st, 22nd and 23rd, where attendees will be able to view detailed plans for the scheme and meet members of the development team.

Orion Shepherd's Bush says the exhibition provides residents with an opportunity to give their thoughts on the plans for the market, which will shortly be submitted to the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

Outline planning permission for the regeneration of the Market is already in place, having been granted by the Council in March 2012.

Exhibition sessions will be held at the following times:

Thursday November 21

Arch 165, Shepherds Bush Market

10am - 5pm

Friday November 22

Bush Theatre, 7 Uxbridge Road

2pm - 6pm

Saturday November 23

Bush Theatre, 7 Uxbridge Road

9am - 1pm

Richard Olsen of Orion Shepherds Bush says " This exhibition is an excellent opportunity for local people to see for themselves our plans for Shepherd's Bush Market.

" The regeneration of the market represents a £150m investment in Shepherd’s Bush. The scheme will bring a wide range of benefits to the local area, creating new homes, new opportunities for start-up businesses and rejuvenating the appearance of the Market.

" The market celebrates its 100th birthday next year and this investment will ensure that it has an exciting future ahead as a vibrant centre of Shepherd’s Bush.

" We hope local people take this opportunity to come along, see the plans for themselves and discuss the development with our team."

The plans are being contested by shopkeepers with premises at 30 - 52 Goldhawk Road, which will be demolished as part of the scheme, who are vowing the fight on despite recent legal setbacks.

There is also a separate public enquiry into the Compulsory Purchase Orders which have been served on the shopkeepers, with the result expected by the end of the year.
