We may be soaking up the sun at the end of February 2019 - but it was a very different scene in Shepherd's Bush this week in 2018.

As temperatures plummeted, our streets and open spaces were blanketed in snow, and local people grabbed their cameras to capture the wintry pictures.

H&F Council's twitter account @lbhf was quick off the mark, tweeting this stunning shot of Wendell Park:

It was followed by a second, of Ravenscourt Park:

Further east, James O'Brien @voxvocis tweeted this sparkling shot of Shepherd's Bush Green:

The blue sky however, did not last with more snow on the way, covering parked cars and even intrepid police officers!

This year, the bad news from the Met Office is that the current heatwave is soon to end and temperatures returning to normal for this time of the year. But at least there is no prospect of snow on the horizon.
