Rain Check For QPR

Match postponed after day of torrential downpours

Queens Park Rangers' Championship fixture against Crystal Palace had to be cancelled on Tuesday afternoon (September 15) due to torrential downpours across west London.

Manager Jim Magilton said the team were “bitterly disappointed" after the decision was made to postpone the match.

“The rain hasn't stopped all afternoon. The groundsman and his staff have done everything they can to get the game on but unfortunately the weather has won today,” he said.

Club officials were said to be left with no option after the Loftus Road pitch became water-logged.

“It's just one of those things, though. It was a home game and we were looking forward to it, but we've got to accept the decision,” he added.

The match will now take place on Tuesday 3 November at 8pm.

Tickets purchased for the original date will still be valid, but refunds are also available up to 24 hours before the rescheduled match.
