Installed just in time for sunny spring weather

Residents in Stamford Brook have welcomed six new benches installed by Hounslow Council last week after a five-year campaign.

Local resident Elizabeth Ross and councillor John Todd were on hand to try out the new seats and pronounced them very comfortable.

Elizabeth, who was one of the driving forces behind the campaign said they had waited five years and were very pleased with the new design.

In the meantime, locals had put up their own park benches (see below) to have someplace to sit. It is not known why it took so long to replace the benches in the park.

Railings and gates have also seen improvements in the common area.

Six new trees, which were planted to replace others lost in a storm some years ago are also doing well.
