You and your kids could learn new superhero skills

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday April 27 and 28, shoppers at Westfield will be able to take on the role of legendary comic book and movie hero Tony Stark as he tests the new Mark XLII armour for the final time before active service in the upcoming release of Marvel’s Iron Man 3.

Become Iron Man, in association with with leading 3D technology provider RealD, is an all-new experience from Marvel Studios. Using ground-breaking motion-sensor technology it allows users to assemble and test the new Mark XLII armour, and be immersed in the action of the film.

Candidates can register by visiting Become Iron Man when they will be given a unique code to bring to Westfield London

On arrival, test pilots will be greeted by Stark Industries technicians and guided by Tony Stark’s computerised personal assistant Jarvis. They will assemble the armour and test the repulsors and flight system. Shareable photographic evidence will be captured throughout.

Junior superheroes meanwhile can also join in the fun. Disney Store is inviting all budding Iron Men to take part in the Marvel Training Academy, where they can learn to become a Junior Super Hero ready to take on the world.

Guests will be taken through a series of Iron Man moves and poses, training them up to be as cool as Tony Stark. Once they have learnt the actions, they will receive a Junior Super Hero card in recognition of their new acquired Super Skills.

Guests will also be invited to create their own version of Iron Man’s suit on specially-created colouring sheets. The activity will be great fun for all the family, and Iron Man fans of all ages!

The Marvel Academy is in the Disney Store, on Westfield's ground floor until Friday June 7. Families are uged to check with the store before visiting to ensure you get the correct information on when activities are happening.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, Marvel’s Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of Tales of Suspense (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with The Invincible Iron Man (#1) in May of 1968.

Iron Man 3 opens at Vue in Westfield on April 25 in both 2D and 3D.
