Love Island presenter offering chance to hire out your decorations
Laura Whitmore in a Very Rental Christmas
Laura Whitmore has set up ‘A Very Rental Christmas’ as a pop-up shop along with Westfield in Shepherd’s Bush helping raise money for Save the Children.
The television presenter, set to take over as the host of Love Island following the death of Caroline Flack, is starting up what is believed to be the UK’s first ever Christmas rental store.
Working in partnership with a team of interior stylists, Laura Whitmore who has a passion for homeware, curated the store inspired by the top interior trends of 2020.
It promises to enable you to rent your entire Christmas in on place including tree, decorations and even a full table setting for six.
The store offers everything from eco-friendly potted Christmas trees, a range of decorative lights, traditional and modern decorations and tableware. All proceeds from the store will go towards the centre’s charity partner, Save the Children who will also be stocking seasonal sweaters to rent for their Christmas Jumper Day campaign.
Laura Whitmore said, “This Christmas, creating the perfect festive atmosphere at home will be more important than ever as more people celebrate at home. I’m so excited to have curated A Very Rental Christmas at Westfield London, the first ever Christmas rental store, to bring together the most amazing seasonal trends in one place. I love the idea of renting things we only use once a year – it’s more sustainable and also means you can try out new styles of decorations each year, which I love to do. This year I’ve gone for a Great Gatsby theme on my tree.”
Research by Westfield owner Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield suggest that nearly half of UK millennials are looking to rent something festive this year. Trees and decorations were the most requested products along with board games, Christmas jumpers and table settings. Moreover, the research found that Londoners were most likely to opt into the rental retail trend than any other UK region.
A Very Rental Christmas will open online on the Westfield London website until Sunday 13th December. Visitors can book a virtual consultation with a home stylist, browse and rent the trends and make the most of the Click&Collect service from the centre. The store opened its doors in line with government guidelines on Thursday 3 December so customers can browse in person.
