Last Chance to Name White City's New Health and Social Care Centre

Residents invited to join in competition before August 29 deadline

NHS Hammersmith and Fulham Clinical Commissioning Group and Hammersmith and Fulham Council are asking local people in White City and Wormholt to enter a competition to name the new health and social care centre.

The local community have been heavily involved in focus groups and workshops through-out the project and the CCG and council would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication.

The new health and social care centre, which is currently under construction, is due to open on Bloemfontein Road W12 in April 2014.

The currently nameless centre will not only provide the best in health and social care but will also be a community hub offering training, activities and health and wellbeing services.

Borough residents will be able to access specialist dental and child development services as well as specialist services for people with long term conditions such as diabetes, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and heart conditions.

You can enter and find out more about the competition here  or by filling in one of the many suggestion cards that are available at the White City Community Centre and local GP surgeries.

How will it work?

You can suggest a name by filling out the online form  or by picking up a suggestion card from your local community centres, schools and GP surgeries around White City and Wormholt.

Once you have completed your suggestion form, you can drop it in your local suggestion box.

Suggestion boxes can be found at the White City Community Centre, White City Health Centre and Canberra Centre for Health.

What names will we consider?

All sensible suggestions will be considered. The name should reflect the services that are being provided to the community (health and social care) as well as drawing inspiration from culture, history and the environment of the surrounding area.

What happens if lots of people suggest the same name for the centre?

If the winning name has been suggested by more than one person, all the names of the people who suggested it will be placed into a blind draw and one name will be chosen at random

 What happens next?

All names will be reviewed by an expert panel. The panel will consist of members from the local community, NHS and the council who will discuss the names with the emergency services, the NHS and London Borough Hammersmith and Fulham Council before deciding who wins.

The winner will be announced at the White City Festival on 15th September and will be invited as a VIP to the opening of the building in 2014.

The winning name will be displayed on the health and social care centre when it opens in 2014.

The deadline of the competition is  August 29 2013 and everyone can enter.
