Fined after driving offence on Swandon Way

Louise Redknapp the singer and former contestant on Strictly Come Dancing has been fined after committing a driving offence in Wandsworth.

She admitted running a red light in her Land Rover on Swandon Way near the junction with Wandsworth Bridge at around 9.34am on 2 November last year.

She was fined £666 at Lavender Hill Magistrates' Court after her defence counsel said that she was remorseful and accepted responsibility. In mitigation she said that at the time she had been going through a divorce from her husband, former footballer Jamie Redknapp, which she had been finding traumatic and she was being harassed by the paparazzi every day. The couple broke up after 19 years together at the end of 2017.

Mrs Redknapp, who lives in Esher will also have to pay a £66 surcharge and £85 costs and has had three points added to her licence.
