I recently ordered some flowers for a funeral from Gemini's Florists on Uxbridge Road and what was sent was an absolute disgrace, the manager agreed a to refund half the amount paid but believe me if I lived near this shop I would be strangling him by now, as if a family member dying isn't bad enough you then get ripped off and an embarrasment of an arrangement is sent with your name on it, some people have no conscience. Well you know what they say what goes around comes around!

HEALING IN CHISWICK

Another year!  Our first session for 2011 will take place at the London Buddhist Vihara, The Avenue, W4 1UD between 11am and 1pm and we look forward to seeing anyone who would like some healing, either just for an energy boost, stress or a physical illness.Although the centre takes place in the Buddhist Temple the healing is NOT related to any religion, it is totally non-denominational everyone is welcome.No charge is made for healing however a donation is most welcome - all donations are given to the Vihara for the use of the hall.No appointments are necessary.  For any further information please give me a ring on 0788 189 6449.

Cheap internet access

A large number of people still do not have internet access, so Martha Lane Fox is putting arrangements in place to get as many of them online as possible. This UK Government backed initiative is expected to include very low price phone, broadband, computer hardware, and help, for anyone currently without access.http://raceonline2012.orghttp://www.marthalanefox.comI gather that the plan is to supply a system based on the Ubuntu Linux distribution to users who may have never used a computer before. I have found that experienced computer users are very wary of even looking at a Linux distribution, yet it is considered suitable for completely inexperienced users.

Extended Opening Hours Application by Walkabout on SB Green

Walkabout is to apply to extend its opening hours until 2.30am on Fridays and Saturdays and to 12.30 on Sundays. They have stated that the intention is to apply for extended licensing hours as well. They seem to think that as the Defectors Weld has a licence until 2am and the Bar FM has one until 3am that they too should be allowed to follow suit. Surely there are enough licensed venues in the area and rather than more opening later, perhaps some should be closing earlier?? Noise, disturbance and antisocial behaviour has long been an issue in the area due to rowdy drunken folk, who generally do not live in the area.

They are staffed by consultants who give one day a week who want to bring Cranial Osteopathy to a wider range of people - Harley St treatment at a fraction of the price. They ask for a donation towards the cost.I really recommend them - they are the most child friendly relaxed place and they get results.Please post this to anyone who could benefit - there are plenty of slots available while they are still unknown in the area.

New book launch: Who was Jack the Stripper?

My second True Crime Story: Who was Jack the Stripper? will be launched at Abertillery Library sometime in March/April 2011. The book launch will coincide with a 1 hour drama/documentary to be aired throughout Britain and Europe focusing on Harold Jones, the killer of 2 school children in Abertillery, South Wales in 1921. (Google Harold Jones - The Welsh Killer, or Neil Milkins, or Jack the Stripper.)The documentary will be presented by television presenter and Kray Twins biographer Fred Dineage MBE and top British criminologist and criminal profiler Professor David Wilson. Jones was 15 when he murdered 8 year-old Freda Elsie Maud Burnell and 11 year-old Florence Irene Little in 1921. Jones was released from prison in 1941 having served 20 years for his crimes and owing to the turmoil of World War 11 he went off the police radar. During the times of the unsolved murders of 8 women in the Hammersmith district of London between 1959 and 1965, Jones lived in the Hammersmith district using various aliases. (He lived in Fulham, Putney and Hammersmith between 1947 and 1971 when he died.) Westfield Traffic due to Congestion Charge removal?

I wouldn't be mad enough to go to Westfield on the Boxing Day sales but I did get stuck in the washback of traffic in the area. What I'd be interested to know is whether or not the jams are an annual event or are they due to the removal of the Western extension of the congestion charge zone the day before?

The Snowman Theatre tickets

We bought tickets for The Snowman at the Peacock theatre, Portugal Street WC2A 2HT for Friday 7 January at 11am, which unfortunately we now cant use. The  4 tickets are in Row J of the stalls (great seats for snow!) and cost £15 each (theatre list price £32 each). Its a wonderful magical production - which any age would enjoy. Accident on Oaklands Grove

One of the lovely little old ladies who wanders round Oaklands Grove was knocked down today by an M&S delivery van which is tremendously sad coming so close to Christmas.3 ambulances, 4 police cars and a couple of motorbikes on site within minutes plus the whirring of helicopters...whole road after Halsey Road enveloped in chaos what with incident tents in the middle of the road.  Perhaps the scale of the response is a little much...All very sad...

Mugging

My daughter was mugged at 5:30am this morning on Percy Road on her way to work.  The guy was on a bicycle, black, middle aged, thin and wore a hoody.  Anyone see anything or anyone fitting this description, go to the police as the next person he mugs (or worse)could be you or one of your children.

Television drama/documentary

On Thursday 25th November 2010, filming will start in Abertillery on a 1 hour drama/documentary dealing with the unsolved murders of 8 women in the Hammersmith/Chiswick/Kensington/Brentford areas of London between 1959 and 1965. Filming will continue in London shortly thereafter. The presenters are Fred Dineage and Professor David Wilson. The documentary will focus on former Abertillery child killer Harold Jones aka Harry Stevens aka Harry Jones.(google fulham and Hammersmith chronicle-neil milkins) My book Who Was Jack the Stripper? will be launched in April 2011 to coincide with the documentary which will be aired throughout Britain and Europe on the Crime and Investigation Channel 553. Spacelet Accommodation Agency

Has anyone else here had dealings with Spacelet, an accommodation agency based at a private house Frithville Gardens near the market?I answered an advertisement for a property and got a mail back from them advising me that I had to register with them at a cost of £59.00. The Accommodation Agencies Act of 1953 and the Unfair Practices Directive (EU Law) make it quite clear that it is illegal for agencies to charge registration fees. If that is so, how is it that this agency are able to do this? Are they breaking the law?  I have today launched a barrage of complaints about this agency to a number of organisations and agencies (including HMRC) and have asked them all to contact this agency to check the legality of their actions. In the meantime, if anyone else knows anything, please let me know.
