An application has been submitted to Hounslow Council for a licence for an immersive display event in Gunnersbury Park next April.
Dino Kingdom is hoping to take over part of the park from 25 March with the live event occurring from Friday 1 April to 18 April. The park would be cleared by 25 April. The event would be open to the public from 10am to 7pm with last admission at 4pm. The event would have a licenced capacity of 4,999 people.
It promises the opportunity to get up close and personal with moving and roaring dinosaurs including the T-rex as well as Triceratops, Spinosaurus, Brachiosaurus and Velociraptors. The display includes an 18 metre high Apatosaurus as well as interactive modules with information about the dinosaurs.
There would be a walking trail within the event space with 30-50 different animatronic dinosaurs with discovery zones and interactive content. The event is aimed at families and there will be food concessions which would have the option to serve alcohol.
In addition there would be fun fair rides and children’s activities such as ‘bone collecting’ in a sand pit.
Dino Kingdom London will take place in the field opposite the boating lake. It would be staged by Proud Events Ltd which is an associate company of Outreach Creative which was the organiser of the Floatopia events held in Chiswick House Grounds.
No indication of ticket prices have been given but Dino Kingdom charged £15 for adults and £13 for children at events held previously elsewhere in the country.
The application states that all public paths will be maintained during the build, break and live period of the event and access routes will be maintained. Consultation has started to take place with the park management team and it is promised that park assets will be protected.
It is understood that planning permission will also be required for the structures to be erected in the park.
