Baltic Film Festival Taking Place at the Riverside Studios
Six films from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania being shown plus director Q&As

The Second London Baltic Film Festival, being held at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, is taking place from 28-30 October
South Social Film Festival have put together a schedule showcasing the cinematic diversity from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, including Q&As with directors and actors from the films.
Along with an opening night reception with live music there will be a selection of delicious Baltic canapes and pastries to enjoy during the festival.
The organisers are calling it a Baltic new wave because now more and more filmmakers show a very personal style. 4 films out of 6 are seeen from to a female perspective.
"I'm Fine Thanks" sees the world through the eyes of a career woman that has been let down by the system. "Neon Spring" deals with a young girl going through rites of passage on her way to become an adult. "Deserted" shows the fight for survival of a journalist kidnapped in Sinai. "Sisters" is a love letter to adopted children. "Pilgrims" shows the behind the scene of a murder, a psychological thriller involving an ex-girlfriend and the victim's brother and finally in "A Tree Of Eternal Love" the male gaze tries to recapture the feeling of love.

Ernestas Jankauskas / Lithuania
+ Q&A session!
Following the screening there will be a Q&A with director Ernestas Jankauskas, who has directed over 40 award winning commercials. His short film, “The Queen of England Stole My Parents”, won best short movie award at the Lithuanian Film Awards.

"DESERTED" (2021)
Kadri Kõusaar / Estonia-Sweden-Finland + Q&A session!
Q&A with Kadri Kõusaar, a multi-award-winning Estonian writer, director and adventurer. Her films have toured all around the world, starting from Karlovy Vary and ending with Cannes. Her most recent feature, "Deserted", won best film and cinematography at Estonian Film and TV awards.

"PILGRIMS" (2021)
Laurynas Bareiša / Lithuania
+ Q&A session!
Following this screening there will be a Q&A with the director, Laurynas Bareiša, and the producer, Klementina Remeikaite. "Pilgrims" is Bareiša's first feature film, it won last year at the Venice film festival Horizons and it is the Lithuanian Oscar entry.

"NEON SPRING" (2022)
Matīss Kaža / Latvia
+ Q&A session!
A new film by Matīss Kaža, for the second time at LBFF. "Neon Spring" was selected at the Edinburgh Film Festival earlier this year and it is also the Latvian Oscar entry. Q&A will be held with the main lead, Marija Luīze Meļķe, a young and upcoming poet and actor.

"SISTERS" (2022)
Linda Olte / Latvia-Italy
+ Q&A session!
Q&A with Linda Olte, a Latvian director, writer and editor. In preparation for her debut "Sisters", she spent two years researching the topic, which involved talking to kids at orphanages. Their real stories are weaved in the script.

"TREE OF ETERNAL LOVE" (2021)
Meel Paliale / Estonia
+ Q&A session!
Following this screening there will be a Q&A with the filmmaker Meel Paliale, the co-writer and main lead Urmet Piiling. Paliale and Piiling are both new generation Estonian filmmakers, who have been collaborating together since high school.
Lithuanian musician, Rita Di, who will be performing her blend of Neo-soul, jazz and funk at the festival and there will be a selection of Baltic canapés and pastries from the Latvian Baked Goods accompanied by fine wine. The Baltic Taster Platter which is available on Saturday & Sunday cost £5.
