Westfield Begins Countdown to Christmas


Ice rink, grotto and superstar switch-on all back this year

Westfield has begun its countdown to Christmas by announcing its plans for the coming festive season.

The shopping centre says following a phenomenal Christmas Lights switch-on in with Rihanna at in November 2010, it is set to bring another global superstar to Shepherd's Bush for this year's ceremony.

London’s trendiest Ice Rink is also back at Westfield from November, offering visitors of all ages, from four upwards, the chance to take time out from shopping for skating fun under its glass roof and dazzling Christmas lights.

And back by popular demand on November 24, the ultimate Christmas grotto experience with a brand new 3D story that will take kids and adults alike on a magical festive journey. Santa Claus will be taking pictures with his little helpers and treating all his visitors to early Christmas presents!

Westfield says more announcement are to come, so watch this space.

This year, Christmas events at Westfield London are being mirrored with festive happenings at the new Westfield Stratford City, which opens its doors on September 13.

Westfield Stratford will have its own celebrity switch on ceremony and Santas's grotto plus an outdoor rink with breathtaking views over the Olympic Park.
