A crack house near Shepherd’s Bush Green has been closed down as part of a major initiative to tackle crime in the area.
Operation Ten Pin saw the police and council raid the property, at 24 Aldine Court, in the early hours of Thursday 11 September.
West London Magistrates’ Court imposed a three month closure order and the property has now been boarded up.
The crackdown saw 13 people arrested for a range of crimes including GBH, possession of class A drugs and fraud.
The police also carried out numerous stop and searches and confiscated cannabis from three people.
Sergeant Finbar King of the Shepherds Bush Safer Neighbourhoods Team was instrumental in the operation: "This is an excellent example of the police, council and other services working together and demonstrates how keen we are to tackle local issues,” he said. “I would like to thank everyone who was involved in this initiative."
The council's corporate anti-fraud service, who also attended the crack house closure, investigated housing benefit fraud issues, while the street scene enforcement team handed out several fixed-penalty notices for littering, and seized vehicles for a variety of traffic offences including driving with no insurance and no licence.
Cllr Greg Smith, cabinet member for crime and anti-social behaviour, said the operation was aimed at deterring criminals and resassuring residents: “We know that drugs not only ruin lives but also fuel other crime. By shutting crack houses and locking the drug-users and drug dealers up we strike at the very heart of crime locally."
