Man sentenced for drugs offences
A man has been sentenced to three years in prison for drug dealing in Shepherd's Bush.
Colin Patrick, 22, from Thornton Road, London E11, was arrested by Safer Neighbourhoods officers last January, on suspicion of dealing drugs in Boscombe Road.
The officers discovered that Patrick had only recently been released from prison on licence after serving part of a 6-year sentence for Possession of a Firearm and Robbery.
On 27th April he was sentenced to three years' imprisonment for Possession with Intent to Supply Controlled Drugs, after pleading guilty. He must also serve 3 years of his previous
sentence that he was on licence for. He will not be eligible for parole until the
sentence is served.
Judge Clive from Kingston Crown Court said Patrick had
been given a chance by the parole board to redeem himself but within 10 days of
being released he had committed another crime.
Acting Sergeant Gethin Jones from Askew Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: "This
young man had been committing criminal offences from an early stage and was given
the chance by society to redeem himself. Within 10 days of him being released on
licence from prison he was caught dealing drugs. This sentence is a deterrent to
other drugs dealers on the Askew Ward."
PC Jessica Newton from the Case Progression Unit at Hammersmith & Fulham said: "I am delighted with the result and that all the hard work from the Case Progression Unit and Askew Safer Neighbourhoods Team has paid off. I feel the streets of Hammersmith & Fulham will be a lot safer with one less dealer off the streets."
