Three Arrests After Westfield Burglary

Jewellery stores raided in overnight heist

Police investigating a burglary at Westfield on Wednesday night (May 5) have made three arrests.

Three teenagers, aged 15, 17 and 18, were arrested at an address in Camden on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a burglary and are currently in custody at a West London police station.

Police were called to the Westfield shopping centre at around 01.20hrs on Wednesday morning, to reports that a burglary was taking place.

Police believe a group of up to ten people wearing balaclavas forced their way into the premises through a fire door. They then broke into two jewellery stores and made off with a quantity of goods.

The group left the scene in approximately three cars, which are believed to have been lost or stolen vehicles.

Police followed one of the vehicles a short distance before losing sight of it.

No one was injured and there have been no arrests at this stage.

Officers from Hammersmith and Fulham CID are investigating and liaising with the Flying Squad.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 020 8246 2634 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
