Momentous Day in Windsor, Wembley - and Wormwood Scrubs

James Spender reports on a parkrun which saw over 100 people complete the course

I was returning after 3 weeks away running the Prague marathon for Kipepeo Foundation benefiting deprived children in Kenya. Thank you for your support over the three months of training via BT MyDonate - I set a new PB of 3:34:19. Please consider a small donation through .

My pacing was way too fast: leading as we passed the football pitches but soon Paul Woodgate, Thomas Barnes and Dominic Casey overtook me. Soon followed by Gideon Reid gliding by and the graceful Anna Lawson (I thought my days of chasing Imperial Ladies were over). Rob Ferguson calmly overtook me together with First Timer Ben Johnson.

Taking a closer look at the results, the first to cross the line were:

Thomas Barnes in 18:37 - improving his PB by almost 30 seconds!
Dominic Casey in 18:45 - also setting a PB
Gideon Reid of Serpentine RC in 19:02
Leading the Ladies were:

Anna Lawson of Imperial College Cross Country & AC in a new PB of 19:56!
Amelia Carman of Queens Park Harriers in 23:16
