Time for New Pub on Uxbridge Road

The former British Queen reopens as The Pocket Watch

A pub on Uxbridge Road has reopened today, Monday November 9 with a new look, new menu and new name - The Pocket Watch.

The former British Queen has been given a major refurbishment by its brewer owners Brakspear, who say they aim to turn it into a ‘neighbourhood local’, offering relaxed drinking, dining and entertainment for residents and workers.

The pub’s traditional Victorian interior has been given a contemporary edge and super-fast broadband and ample charging points bring it right up to date.

The pub promises a quality drinks range which includes Brakspear cask ales, premium draught and craft beers, ciders and premium spirits.

The food menu, changing every couple of months, includes small plates such as popcorn prawns and spam fritters, and large plates such as such as burgers, steak, mac ‘n’ cheese and baked seabass.

Richard Bezan, general manager at the Pocket Watch says: " We think this is just the kind of pub that Shepherds Bush needs – a place you can drop into for an after-work pint or a quick bite to eat, spend time with friends or catch up on emails. The atmosphere is very relaxed and informal, and we’ve a great team of staff who will keep standards high while also taking time to talk to customers.

" A lot of local people peeked in while we were finishing the refurbishment and they seemed to like what they saw, which is very different to the old pub. We’re expecting to be busy from the start, especially as we move into the Christmas season."

The Pocket Watch is at 434 Uxbridge Road. Find out more here.
