Medal-winning Olympic legends will be visiting during the Tokyo games
A huge range of activities at the Team GB Fan Zone
Team GB’s official Fan Zone is going to be opening soon at Westfield in Shepherd’s Bush.
It will be officially opened at 12 noon on Friday, July 23 by double Olympic medal winner and javelin world champion Fatima Whitbread MBE, followed by a screening of the Tokyo Opening Ceremony at 12 noon.
Open for 17 days, the fan zone which is hosted by Ocean Outdoor is free to enter and offers visitors a range of activities, competitions, sporting experiences and close up encounters with Team GB worldwide and official partners, global Olympics partners, athletes and other special guests.
It includes a 40 metre tall four-person climbing wall hosted by Toyota, with the chance to win a selection of toys and other prizes for those who scale it the fastest.
Birds Eye will host a photo booth offering discount coupons, Team GB prizes and a draw to win a £500 Westfield London shopping spree for those who share their photos on their chosen social media channels using the #BirdsEyeWestfield.
There’s a chance to play SEGA’s Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game. SEGA is providing a van where gamers can play against each other as their competitions are played out on Ocean’s large format Westfield Square digital screen.
The game is a compilation of 18 Olympic sport mini-games include running, swimming, boxing, hurdling, relay, football, beach volleyball, tennis, table tennis, sport climbing, basketball, judo, BMX biking and long jump.

Other activities hosted by SEGA include table tennis and photo opportunities with a number of special guests including the Olympic medallists Iwan Thomas MBE, Linford Christie OBE and Joanna Rowsell MBE, and Sonic the Hedgehog.
There is also a mini race-track for children with a special opportunity to Train with an Olympian, an installation by Wattbike for virtual cycle races with a competitive leader board as well as a bar and an ice cream truck
Situated on the lower level will be a decorated astro-turfed viewing area for fans to relax on deck chairs or in boats to watch the Games as they happen on a pop-up screen.
