The police are appealing for witnesses after a woman wearing a hijab was assaulted on a 207 bus.

The victim, who is in her forties, was travelling westwards on the route at around 10:30pm on 27 November when a man boarded at a bus stop near the Westfield Shopping Centre in White City.

She was approached by the man who initiated a conversation but she explained to him that she didn’t want to talk to him. He ignored the request and went on to make unwanted comments before assaulting her. The woman did not require hospital treatment.

The man got off the bus on Uxbridge Road close to the Ealing Town Hall.

Detectives from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command have carried out a number of enquiries, including a review of CCTV from the bus. They are now appealing for the public's help to identify the suspect.

Anyone who can help the investigation is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1753/27Nov22.

To remain anonymous contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
